Vertebra critica in a case of near-hanging

Objective: To demonstrate the significance of fused cervical vertebrae in emergency medicine practice. Case Presentation: A 35-year-old male was brought to department (ED) who attempted suicide by hanging and later found have congenital fusion vertebra C2 C3, a condition referred as - critica. This is only case report patient with critica admitted for near hanging. The intubated Portex® North Polar endotracheal tube (ETT) through nasal route. proved be critical decision it helped early airway control avoiding any complication. Conclusion: As victims near-hanging should spine restriction, judicious use flexible portex® ETT may help intubation resuscitation without aggravating neurological injuries. It must noted that contraindicated base skull fractures avoided patients obvious traumatic injury neck including laryngeal trauma, tracheal disruption vessel
